In this article, learn about the three different types of Google posts:
- What’s New—Update customers on news about your business
- Offer—Publish details of special offers
- Q & A—Publish (1) a new question or (2) a question and an answer
When you select Google as the provider when you create a post, you can select from among the different post types. See details about each post in the following sections.

What’s New
What’s New is a section in the Google business listing where you can post any update you’d like for your business.
Follow these steps to post a What’s New in your business’s listing:
- On the Publish page, select Create Post > Google > What’s new.
- Enter the post details. As you enter the details, the results will show in the Preview pane.
- Pages—Select the Google pages on which you want your post to appear
- Message—Cut and paste or type the text you want included
- Images & Video—Select Add images and video to select an image or video or upload a new one. If you add a video, you can’t add a second video or images. Images must be .jpg, .gif, or .png. Maximum 4MB image upload. We recommend files of fewer than 500KB for best results.
- Schedule—Select the Date, Time, and TIme Zone for publication, then select OK. If you want to publish immediately after you finish providing the details, don’t schedule a date.Enter the post details. As you enter the details, the result will show up in the Preview pane.
- Post Options—If you want a call to action in your post, select among the Post Options for a button you’d like to use. Options include Book, Order, Shop, Learn More, Sign Up, Get Offer, and Call. Then enter a Button URL.
3. Select Schedule Post. It will appear on the Publish page as Scheduled. (If you haven’t selected a publication date, you can select Publish Now.)
Offer
Offer is a section in the Google business listing where you can post promotional offerings.
Follow these steps to post an Offer in your business’s listing:
- On the Publish page, select Create Post > Google > Offers.
- Enter the details on the Offer Details pane. As you enter the details, the result will show up in the Preview pane.
- Pages—Select the Google pages on which you want your post to appear
- Offer Details—Specify the details of your offer, including:
- Offer Title—Create a name for your offer
- Start Date, End Date—Specify when the offer to begins and ends
- Offer Details—Describe what’s included and excluded in the offer
- Coupon code (optional)—Enter a coupon code
- Link to redeem offer (optional)—Enter a link for offer redemption
- If you want to include an image or video, in Images & Video, select Add images and video to select or upload an image or video with your textual content. If you add a video, you can’t add a second video or images. Images must be .jpg, .gif, or .png. Maximum 4MB image upload. We recommend files of fewer than 500KB for best results.
- Select Add Schedule in the Schedule pane to select the Date, Time, and TIme Zone for publication, then select OK. If you want to publish immediately after you finish providing the details, don’t schedule the post.

Q & A
Follow these steps to post an Q & A in your business’s listing:
- On the Publish page, select Create Post > Google > Q & A.
- In the Pages pane, select the Google pages on which you want your post to appear.
- In the Question and Answer panes, enter your question and answer. You’ll see your Q&A in the Preview pane.
- Select Add Schedule in the Schedule pane to select the Date, Time, and TIme Zone for publication, then select OK. If you want to publish immediately after you finish providing the details, don’t schedule the post.
- Select Schedule Post. It will appear on the Publish page as Scheduled. (If you haven’t selected a publication date, you can select Publish Now.)
